01/25/12 The Philadelphia Jackals lost 5-1 to Penn State in an abbreviated game at The Rink in Elkins Park on Tuesday night. "We were completely outworked and outplayed. Some of these kids had a true taste of hockey at the collegiate level, even if it was in the ACHA. Our guys were getting hit hard and out worked, continued turnovers both defensively and offensively gave the game away. We are our own worst enemy out there, stated Coach Simmons." The Jackals will once again face Penn State at home on Sunday night. Game time is 8 P.M. and the game will be televised. -Phil Almquist, Team Broadcaster-Reporter
01/23/12 Philadelphia inks Center, Dace Ludwig who played last season for the Mid-State Mustangs 'AA', in 20 games he tallied 17 goals and 32 assists for a total of 49 pts. He will arrive in town tomorrow in time for the Penn State game.
01/21/12 The Jackals pulled out a win against the Aviators, 2-1. "We were not pleased with the game we played. We did not play 60 minutes of hockey and Piper kept us in it for the win, stated the Jackals Coaching Staff." Philadelphia will hit the ice on Monday for practice and prepare to take on the Penn State Nittny Lions on Tuesday, January 24 at 9 PM at The Rink!!!!

12/27/11 It appears as though Santa delivered another gift to Philadelphia Jackals Netminder, Nat Acchione, as he was called up to the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL, affiliate to NHL's Ottawa Senators and Anaheim Ducks, as well as AHL's Binghamton Senators and Syracuse Crunch.
"We had both of our netminders
from Elmira called up by their NHL teams,
so we had Nick Niedert from our affiliate
team in Danbury in the FHL come in and
in turn we needed a back up for him. So I
called one our closest Jr. netminders, Nat
Acchione and told him here is his chance
to get a true look at the pro level, from a
game to practice perspective. He backed
up in the game against Pittsburgh Pens
affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers last night.
He was able to be part of great game that
ended up in a shoot-out win for the team
and see the Jackals stay in first place in
their division. This is what it is all about,
moving our players up and seeing them
excel; both on the ice and with the
education aspect of the game as well,
stated Coach Simmons."
NHLer Craig Rivet With Netminder Nat Acchione
"This was an amazing experience; everything from the passing, shooting and skating is ten times faster and so crisp. To play with a 10 year NHL veteran like Craig Rivet and other NCAA and NHL draft pick players was great. It really opened my eyes and it all came together as to how Coach Simmons instructs us on and off the ice and why he is so hard on us to be excellent in everything we do. I've learned so much in two days from being involved from a practice to game stand point, that my level of confidence to succeed is driven even more, stated Jackals netminder, Nat Acchione."
The next game backing up that Nat Acchione may see is on Wednesday night, as the Elmira Jackals take on the Reading Royals in Reading, PA. We congratulate the Philadelphia Jackals and the IJHL on their continued development of its players.
